Angela – Washington DC Headshot Session

Angela is a medical professional who had just moved from Upstate New York and was looking for new headshots. This shoot actually came along easily enough, that’s the thing I love about DC for headshot sessions, it’s just an easy place to find gorgeous backdrops. This was one of two headshot sessions I shot at Meridian Hill Park and it’s easily becoming one of my favorite places to shoot. There’s a lot of foliage and neutral colored backgrounds. Sure, there are also a couple bums to contend with but for a headshot session the backgrounds just make it a dream, especially with a nice long lens. They just blow out into a bokeh-licious blob of color. Yeah, I think that’s a technical term.

I really love how Angela’s session went and I think we got some great headshots and portraits in the 40 minutes we were together. I couldn’t be happier and she was nice enough to leave me a lovely testimonial.

Dave – Musician Headshots & Portraits

Dave is a musician here in the Washington DC area, and he contacted me to get some headshots for personal use. He also expressed some interest in pursuing modeling so I was happy to help him out with both. This was my second headshot session for the day at my studio in Takoma and I had a ton of fun.

Believe it or not, Dave never did tell me what kind of musician he was. We had a long conversation about camera gear when he was in my studio and I guess it slipped my mind. We shot about 100 photos in the 45 minutes we shot together but I think we got some nice moody images for promotional purposes and for modeling purposes as well.
